LUBRICATION OF THE LOWER BEARINGS OF A COIL ACCUMULATOR AT A STEEL PLANT.

CONTEXT

An international player in the steel industry operates 2 coil accumulators within its production plant. 64 lower bearings need to be lubricated, currently this lubrication in done with a disposable gas driven automatic lubricator.

PROBLEM

It's time and budget consuming for the maintenance teams to replace all gas driven lubricators 4 times per year, furthermore - the systems are disposable and cost yet again when recycling them according to all environmental regulations. An overconsumption of lubricant is in play too: as the lubricators are not always empty at the maintenance window they are replaced anyway to avoid extra machine downtime and service runs by the team.

SOLUTION
