Optimizing lubrication for a mobile drilling machine.

CONTEXT

Mobile drilling machines are indispensable in civil engineering projects, particularly within the drilling sector, where high performance and reliability are crucial. Operating in remote and demanding environments, these machines frequently move between worksites. Regular lubrication is critical to maintaining their functionality and preventing premature wear. However, the challenges of consistent and accessible lubrication in such mobile operations often lead to inefficiencies and increased maintenance demands.

PROBLEM

The drilling machine experienced irregular lubrication due to its frequent relocation between sites, which disrupted maintenance schedules. Several lubrication points were difficult to access, making manual lubrication inconsistent and labor-intensive. These issues resulted in insufficient lubrication, accelerated wear of key components, and higher operational costs due to increased downtime and maintenance interventions.

SOLUTION

To address these challenges, 8 Memolub EPS 480cc automatic lubricators were installed. Each lubricator was equipped with splitter kits featuring 6, 8, or 10 outlets, ensuring efficient lubrication of all 74 lubrication points on the machine. The automatic system delivered precise and consistent lubrication to every point, even those in hard-to-reach locations, eliminating reliance on manual processes.

RESULT

The installation of Memolub EPS 480cc automatic lubricators ensured regular lubrication across the machine, significantly improving reliability. By automating the process, the client eliminated costs associated with travel and external lubrication services. The reduction in downtime and maintenance interventions enhanced productivity and allowed the machine to perform more efficiently across multiple worksites.
