Memolub PLCD

Enhancing bearing reliability in a noodle production plant.

Context

A noodle production plant in China required consistent lubrication of four critical bearings. These bearings, which operate under low-speed and high-load conditions, are essential to maintaining the reliability of the production process. The existing manual lubrication routine was proving inadequate, leading to frequent failures and high repair costs.

Problem

The plant was experiencing repeated complaints regarding bearing failures, which disrupted production and incurred high repair costs. Upon analysis, it was discovered that manual lubrication was not performed on time, leading to insufficient bearing maintenance and decreased machine reliability.

Solution

To address the issue, a Memolub PLCD 240cc automatic lubricator was installed, filled with a NSF H1 food-grade grease to meet hygiene standards. The lubricator was connected to a 4-point distributor block to ensure even distribution of grease to all bearings. The system was configured for a six-month lubrication cycle, providing consistent and reliable maintenance without manual intervention.

Results

After a six-month trial period, the Memolub PLCD system demonstrated excellent performance and significantly improved the reliability of the bearings. The automated lubrication system was validated for use across the entire production plant, eliminating the challenges associated with manual lubrication and reducing repair costs tremendously.
